President’s Day is here, with all its fun celebrations—okay, fine, it’s one of the quieter holidays, but we’ll take a day off of work in February! But while the festivities might be demur, there are some deals on kitchen gear that are worth getting excited about.

Whether you’re gearing up for summer (we know we’re already dreaming about pizza ovens and pellet smokers) or just browsing for a new kitchen gadget, we rounded up some of the best sales on our favorite reviewed equipment.

YOSUKATA Carbon Steel Wok Pan

Normally $70, Now $60

If you haven’t bought a wok yet, now is the time: one of our favorite pre-seasoned woks is 14% off. This flat-bottomed pan is compatible with all stovetops (including induction). It’s also heat-responsive, and we particularly liked its helper handle.

Anova Culinary AN500-US00 Sous Vide Precision Cooker

Normally $220, Now $140

This was one of our favorite sous vide cookers because of its onboard display, which made it easy to program (and it also has Wi-Fi control if you’re into smart tech/app-enabled things). After all, no one wants the internet to cut out and ruin dinner! It also just performed really well and kept water bath temperatures ultra-stable (essential for sous vide), and the adjustable clamp fits on a number of different vessels.

Lodge 10-1/4-Inch Pre-Seasoned Skillet

Normally $34, Now $20

A cast iron skillet can last a lifetime, and this one from Lodge is no exception—it’s durable, sears nicely, is easy to season, and it’s made in the USA. And after reviewing 22 cast iron skillets, it’s our top pick. Oh, and it’s $14 off an already affordable price—what’s not to love?

Ooni Koda 16 Gas Pizza Oven

Normally $800, Now $595

As we mentioned, we are already dreaming of warmer days and backyard cooking—and we have big plans with this pizza oven from Ooni. Because it heats up fast and can hit a searing 900°F, it’s great for baking Neapolitan pies, and you can even use it to char vegetables and cook meats. And, since it’s gas-powered, you can just hook up the propane tank and get cooking. We particularly like its larger opening, too, which is suitable for up to 16-inch pies.

Instant Vortex Plus 6-Quart Air Fryer

Normally $160, Now $130

We at Serious Eats really like air fryers (surprise!); their smaller capacity paired with a powerful fan makes for ultra-crispy results. And our winning air fryer from Instant is $30 off—the perfect incentive to invest in one. In our tests, it cooked the fastest and had handy usability features, like a control dial and the ability to adjust the temperature in 5-degree increments (which is actually not super common for air fryers).

Vitamix 5200 Blender

Normally $480, Now $389

We’ve said it once (okay, more than once), and we’ll say it again: this is the best blender out there. It crushes, purees, and pulverizes without a hitch, its powerful motor tackling the toughest of ingredients with speed and efficiency. And at the moment, it’s $91 off the black version.

Mueller Vacuum Sealer

Normally $70, Now $50

This budget-friendly vacuum sealer aced our tests; it sealed nice and tight, and we had no issues with water permeation when we used it to cook sous vide. Plus, it’s lighter than most vacuum sealers, and tucks away nicely, making storage easy. And now it’s $17 off, making a sweet deal even sweeter.

Vitamix Immersion Blender

Normally $150, Now $125

A fantastic immersion blender, this offering from Vitamix is incredibly powerful. Our review outlines all the ways it impressed us, including how its multiple speed settings allowed it to ace tasks both tough and delicate, as well as how comfortable it was to hold. Though it’s not on sale, we also really like this stick blender’s handy storage case.

Instant Pot Pro 10-in-1 Pressure Cooker

Normally $170, Now $130

A good pressure cooker (a.k.a multi-cooker) can speed up your kitchen routine; need a pot of dried beans hydrated yesterday? Throw them in the Instant Pot and you’ll be good to go in some 30 minutes. And now our winner from Instant Pot is on sale for $40 off, and it’s worth considering. In our tests, it browned well, cooked fast, and was easy to use with features like a steam release switch and handles on its cooking pot.

Lodge Cast Iron Reversible Grill/Griddle

Normally $80, Now $50

A stovetop griddle makes mornings a little more exciting—you can wake up your family to the smell of bacon sizzling away, or to the sound of flapjacks flipping. Put a pot of coffee on, and you might feel like you’re in a diner. And our winning stovetop griddle is currently $30 off, meaning this is an achievable feat. It’s made from cast iron and will, therefore, last forever with proper care and seasoning.

Messermeister Avanta Steak Knives

Normally $89, Now $70

A good steak knife not only slices through all manner of cuts easily, but it also looks good doing it. During our review of steak knives, we came to love this set of four knives from Messermeister—they were sturdy, sharp, and eye-catching, and they won’t break the bank.

All-Clad Stainless Steel Immersion Blender

Normally $170, $120

This is another powerful immersion blender that aced our tests and is a longtime Serious Eats favorite; it whipped up creamy mayo, pureed soup until silky smooth, and even crushed ice (and that’s pretty dang impressive). And it’s currently on sale for nearly 30% off.

OXO Brew Compact Cold Brew Coffee Maker

Normally $35, Now $28

If you run on cold brew, this is the cold brew coffee maker for you. It won our tests, impressing us with its simplicity and killer cuppa. It’s also very compact and easy to store and comes with a cork lid. It’s currently 21% off.

ESPRO P3 French Press

Normally $65, Now $40

This French press produced the cleanest cup of coffee of the presses we tested. Part of the reason for this is that it’s a coffee tinkerer’s delight: because it comes with a two-layer mesh cage, you can play around with different grind sizes until you’ve perfected the perfect cup. And now it’s on sale for $25 off.

Rubbermaid Brilliance Leak-Proof Food Storage Containers

Normally $35, Now $20

While food storage containers might be the bain of your existence (we still haven’t figured out a great way to store them!), a good set can change your life. Okay, that’s dramatic, but seriously, a good set of containers that keeps food fresh and is easy to stack is a thing of beauty. Enter our winning set from Rubbermaid: they come in plastic or glass, are easy to open and close, are leakproof, and stack easily. And—even better—they’re a whopping 43% off at the moment.

FAQs

When is President’s Day 2023?

President’s Day in 2023 is on Monday, February 20. Many brands and online retailers have sales that day (and some are starting the week before, as well).

Are there any good President’s Day deals?

We think there are some good deals on President’s Day. For instance, there are sales on our favorite pre-seasoned wok (Yosukata Carbon Steel Wok Pan) and one of our favorite sous vide immersion circulators from Anova. We are also eyeing a sale on the Vitamix 5200 blender, which has been a perennial Serious Eats favorite.
